They painted and gave books to Theodore Wolf School

Crew of USS Portland Visited San Lorenzo

 

About 20 crewmembers of the American ship, USS Portland (LSD37), visited yesterday the Theodore Wolf School of the San Lorenzo Township, where they painted and donated school supplies to the school.  (Captain) Winston Jimenez and the Corporal Andres Hunsicker, coordinators of the social work, and various crewmembers of the North American ship went to the said named school in the Canton of Manta with the objective of cleaning and fixing up the school.  They completed a series of electrical repairs, cleaned up and painted the classrooms and the (basketball court). Additionally, they donated school supplies like chalkboards, notebooks, and books for the students of the educational institution.  The students, adolescents and citizens, demonstrated their pleasure for the jobs completed in this part of the city.  Zenon Rivera, director of the rural school thanked the visitors, reiterating the job well done benefiting the children.
