The Environmental Assessment Section consists of an Environmental Compliance Evaluation (ECE) Program, Environmental Training,  Pollution Prevention and Sustainability.  The goal of the Environmental Assessment Section is to ensure Camp Lejeune achieves and maintains regulatory compliance through pollution prevention efforts in accordance with federal and state regulations. This is accomplished through a continuous Self-Audit program here at Camp Lejeune and through coordination of inspections by Headquarters Marine Corps (triennially), Commanding General's  Inspection Program (biennially),  Environmental Protection Agency (at least once every 5 years), and North Carolina Department of Environment and Natural Resources (annually). The increasing frequency and scope of such evaluations has resulted in an outstanding environmental program.
